Abstract

This article presents the current state of scientific cooperations between France and Brazil, focusing the analysis on actions undertaken by CNRS. At first we introduce the general context of science in Brazil, its ongoing dynamics and the organisation of Brazilian research. Then we assess the history of scientific cooperation with France and summarize its present status. We conclude by outlining some challenges for the future.
