About CNRS
The CNRS currently employs 11,600 scientists (15% of them non French) and 14,400 engineers and support staff, making it France’s largest research institution, both a research operator and a research-funding agency. CNRS carries out research in all areas of science, technology and society through its ten institutes, two of which have the status of national institutes:
